Raja Ravi Varma is an iconic Indian artist, who is known for his unique oil paintings. They mainly depicted scenes from epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. His work combined western realism with Hindu iconography, painting deities, Gods, and Goddess in the likeness of human-kind. He was instrumental in making affordable lithographs of his paintings available to the public. His work increased the involvement of the common people with fine art and moulded their artistic tastes.
This is an original Ravi Varma lithograph from the press in Karla, Lonavala, Maharashtra. It was printed by Anant Shivaji Desai for sale in Moti Bazar Mumbai. This press printed Ravi Varma’s artwork between 1906 and 1945.

This lithograph is a depiction of Seshanarayan or Vishnu, most commonly worshipped as Adisesha (the foremost) and Anantasesha (the endless). Seshanarayana is worshipped based on the stance or pose, Seated on the five-headed or seven-headed serpent he is Adi, reclining he is Ananta. Seen with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, Seshnarayana is the Supreme Being in Vaishnavism.
