Haveli Aangan Pillar

Rs. 18,000
Haveli Aangan Pillar : Kathiyawaar : c 1940

Māru-Gurjara architecture was the most influential style during the rise of the Chalukya dynasty. This style influenced the design of many Hindu-Jain temples as well as homes in the Gujurat and Rajasthan area. Chaulukya style or Solaṅkī style is known for its intricate details and exceptional craftsmanship.
These beautifully carved pillars were once a part of a haveli in Kathiyawaar, Gujurat. They have a purnapadma (fully blown lotus) and urdhvapadma (upturned lotus) engraved beside each other. The artisans during this era were heavily inspired by the elements of nature which translated into their carving and ornamentation.
