Art Deco is an art movement that originated in France and swept across globally in the 1920s. Though short-lived, this style reflected the industrial and technological advances with its simple yet sophisticated designs. Inspired by nature, the motifs included flat geometric shapes of nude female figures, animals, foliage, and sun rays. This beautifully revived ceiling panel was acquired from a demolished bungalow in Bombay. The geometric motifs on the panel reflect the design principle of this art movement. Made out of teak wood, the panel has been restored with new mirrors.
