Reverse Glass Painting of a Noble Women
Dimensions :  14.5" x 11"

Reverse glass painting is originally a European form of art. It traveled to India via the Indo-Chinese trading routes in the 19th century. Artists were often commissioned to paint portraits of members of the royal court. This is one such painting depicting a woman, seated in a yellow room with a be-jeweled dagger. Her appearance coupled with the fine jewellery she is wearing tells us that this is a woman of high status.
